TYING THE KNOT WITH RENEE

Renee wasn't your typical bride-to-be. In Renee's words: When searching for a wedding outfit, I had a few things I was looking for. A wedding gown that could be re-worn casually. Something almost unheard of, its unconventional but it is the most practical approach. As I didn’t like the idea of a rented gown thats so expensive just to be worn for a day, nor did I like the idea of purchasing something I could only wear once. 

I've been following NAOUU since the "Memories Dress" that broke the internet. NAOUU's style and designs have always been scandalous, classy and elegant, which was exactly what I was looking for. Nyse' approach to material choices and silhouettes were what dreams were made of. The strength of a good fashion designer lies between all of these characteristics and NAOUU was the perfect fit for this project.

Though it was something NAOUU was not advertising, I DM-ed and tried my luck, and boy did I struck gold. She understood my brief to a T. As I’m quite particular and picky with certain fabrics, styles and structures of an outfit. I sent over a lengthy mood board but she understood me perfectly. She was able to send over references that were exactly what I saved, it was as if she was in my Pinterest board.

This unconventional brief was taken with such grace and elegance by Nyse. Sending over sketches of innovative designs that suited my taste and aesthetic, while delivering her style and passion into it as well. She was also able to deliver variety for me, so that I had a few choices to look at before making a decision.

As versatility was something I was looking for, Nyse had sketched out different styles of two piece matching sets, so that I can dress it down or up. Through this process, there were changes to the choice of fabrics and we had to tweak the design so that it could be worn comfortably. Nyse is very driven to deliver the best product and even with the material changes, she made several trips to get it sorted. Her dedication and appreciation to her craft is very admirable. 

I am very grateful for the energy and love put into this set, along with the passion and trust to take this brief and turn it into gold. Through our conversations, NAOUU's philosophies shine through, as she explains that she believes beauty is confidence and comfort. Where we don’t need to sacrifice one for the other. With her energy, passion and hardwork, I was able to spend the day of my wedding reception with so much confidence. Knowing that this silhouette was something I looked good in, knowing that these fabrics suit me, knowing that this fit had been altered for my body shape (and height), it gave me the much needed confidence on a nerve wrecking day.
